The Weekend Brew

Today I am linking up with Barbie over at My Freshly Brewed Life for the

‘The Weekend Brew.’

My word for this year is ‘TRUST’ and this quote below has been laid heavy on my heart.

After I was let go from my job (read more about that here), I was devastated to be honest with you. It was embarrassing; although, I had no reason to be embarrassed. Two months later, I stand back and look back on things, and it was the best thing possible. God took the stress away from me.

My days would start with my arriving at work by 6:30 a.m. at the latest, and I would work as late as 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. some nights. It was extremely stressful, and demanding. My anxiety levels would skyrocket on my way to work every morning as well as throughout the day. It was so bad that about a month prior to all of this I went to the doctor to get some medication for my anxiety. It was more than I could handle to be honest with you. I was a very unpleasant person to be around, and had a horrible outlook on life.

MY PLAN was for me to find another job, and then give my notice and leave. GOD had a different plan. Imagine that, right? I look back now and it was a HUGE BLESSING that he took this burden off of me.

Quote2 I had prayed for another job to open up, and even applied to I can’t even tell you how many. They all resulted in nothing prior to be letting go.

I know what your thinking…. Has God answered your prayer, and have you found a job?

The answer is NO.

However, I’m trusting God that He is hearing my prayers.

He is hearing more than I could ever say.

He will answer more than I could ever ask.

He will give me a job, and it will be better than I could ever imagine.

However, it will be in HIS own time, and in HIS own way.

Friday 5

What a week it has been!  This is my VERY FIRST week linking up with all these lovely ladies.

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG fridayfavorites

I’m very excited to share my 5 things this week.

This weekend will consist of cleaning, spending time with my hubby ,and doing some home improvement projects that I hope to share next week.

I’m kind of obsessed with the Green Smoothie that I shared earlier this week.  Like I mentioned before, I was very skeptical of putting green veggies in a perfectly good smoothie.  It’s extremely tasty though, and has become apart of my morning routine.

I have a guilty obsession with watching ‘The Bachelor.’  Please tell me I’m not alone ladies.  I watched the premiere on Monday with the hubby by my side.  I’m pretty sure he was delighted as much as I was. (sarcasm at it’s best)

I just love this little guy.  I just love when he snuggles with his mommy in the morning, and I absolutely love this picture.  It looks like he is sticking his tongue out at me.

I’m excited to try this lovely snack mix here.  Doesn’t it just look tasty.  Off to the grocery store this afternoon to pick up my ingredients.  What snacks do you like to put in your snack mix?

I’ve been pretty busy working on blog and website designs, and I haven’t gotten to spend much time finishing this site up.  Maybe the weekend I will finish everything up, but until then off to finish a site before the weekend.  Here is my latest creation that I’m wrapping up.

Ahh 2014 where did you run off too….  I could post all of what 2014 brought me but as I sit here watching ESPN with my husband, I’m reminded more of what I’ve learned this year and that will hopefully help me out in 2015. And here is it…

I’ve learned that I am not who I was 5 years ago.

I’ve learned Jesus never fails.

I’ve learned that planning meals with my husband saves me so much time.

I’ve learned Jesus never fails.

I’ve learned that it’s okay to disagree with my parents as long as I do it with respect.

I’ve learned Jesus never fails.

I’ve learned that people will disappoint me, but I need to love them anyways.

I’ve learned Jesus never fails.

I’ve learned that while old friendships seem to fall by the waist side NEW ones emerge at the time I need them most and least expect them.

I’ve learned Jesus never fails.

I’ve learned that accessorizing is my favorite thing to do when getting ready.

I’ve learned that Jesus never fails.

I’ve learned that while old friendships seems to fall by the waist side NEW ones emerge at the time I need them most and least expect them.

I’ve learned Jesus never fails.

I’ve learned that laundry has to be my least favorite thing to do. (Wait, maybe I’ve always known that.)

I’ve learned Jesus never fails.

I’ve been reminded I’m not promised tomorrow and to cherish memories that I make with my family, husband, and friends.

I’ve learned Jesus never fails.

I’m continuously learning that I’m only as good as a wife as I strive to be and while I may often fail, my husband still loves me.

I’ve learned Jesus never fails.

I’ve learned to trust Jesus even when I don’t know how.

I’ve learned Jesus never fails.

I’ve learned that Jesus always has a plan, but I sometimes must just be still.

I’ve learned Jesus never fails.

I’ve learned that being away from family can be really tough.

I’ve learned that Jesus never fails.

I’ve learned that I’m okay with the woman, and wife I’m becoming, but I will always have room to grow.

I’ve learned that Jesus never fails.

And today, as any other day, I remember that JESUS PAID IT ALL so I don’t have to do ANY of what I’ve learned and what I’m going to learn in 2015, ALONE.

Green Smoothie

There are a million Green Smoothie recipes out there, but for someone so skeptical as myself I just had to share my favorite one.  I’ve always seen these recipes on pinterest, but really been scared to try them.  In an effort to be more healthy in 2015, I knew I had to give it a try.  After trying several different ones and combining a few recipes, I came up with a Green Smoothie that takes less that 5 minutes to make.

Green Smoothie

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Weekend in Review

What an exciting weekend we had this past week.  This past weekend my in-laws, and my husband’s brother and sister came for a visit, and we all went to the Birmingham Bowl on Saturday.  My husband and in-laws are HUGE Florida Gator fans.  We were super lucky this year with them playing their bowl game in Birmingham; however, not super lucky because they didn’t win many games this year.

My Husband and I before the game.

  WeekendInReview3 A group shot.

Great Picture of the in-laws before the game.

WeekendInReview5 Us Girls.

Below you will see the shirts that I designed up with my Silhouette Cameo prior to the game.  A Southern Gal can’t go to the game without the right attire now can they?  If you are a huge football fan, then you know what the answer is.

Gotta love a picture of Alberta and Albert!

And I can’t have a weekend full of some SEC football without sharing a few action shots.

To say we had a good weekend, that’s an understatement despite hunkering under ponchos for the first two quarters.
